Paige is a licensed Physical Therapist and board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She earned her BS in Health Science from St. Mary’s College of CA (1999) and Master’s degree from Samuel Merritt University (2003). After only a year of practice as a PT, she was drawn to Pilates for it’s effectiveness in spinal stabilization and postural training. She completed a comprehensive teacher training program through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) in 2005. She has worked in both clinical and studio settings incorporating the Pilates method as a therapeutic modality.
Paige further defined herself in the orthopedic setting by earning her OCS, a specialist certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. The specialist certification program was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in a special area of practice and to assist consumers and the health care community in identifying these physical therapist.
Paige also incorporates Medical Therapeutic Yoga as a Professional Yoga Therapist (PYT) into her eclectic approach to physical therapy. PYT medical yoga is a one of kind program developed by Ginger Garner, PT, available only to licensed health care professionals. With it’s high prerequisites, the PYT program trains specialized practitioners to blend the ancient principles of yogic medicine with evidence based concepts of modern western medicine. Paige has found it relevant to her clients and herself in striving to achieve a balanced way of life.
Finally, rounding out her integrative whole-body approach she has received advanced training in myofunctional therapy, through the AOMT, with special interest in treating impairments related to airway disorders and TMJD. By treating orofacial and upper cervical dysfunctions through specialized exercises and neuromuscular re-education, she has been able to make profound changes in her clients quality of life and overall postural stability. She greatly enjoys the collaboration with other airway centric health care professionals necessary to treat these issues. This specialized approach used is unique and new within the field of physical therapy. Paige is passionate about educating not only her clients but her professional community on how to screen and manage airway related issues and their systemic correlates.
Paige is a lifelong learner and continuing education junky, surpassing the state requisites for continued training yearly.
